EDC Celebrates Another Banner Year
In late June, Randolph EDC hosted its Annual Meeting at The Roost at Butler Farm, a beautiful event space in Staley. It's hard to top a year like 2021-2022 when Toyota announced its commitment to Randolph County, but 2022-2023 actually exceeded the previous year in terms of investment. Highlights from the year included:
$4.7 Billion in new investment and 872 New Jobs
Multiple Existing Industry expansions including: Energizer, PEMMCO, Mid- State Trailer, and more
The EDC's first-ever fundraising initiative, Randolph Rises

EDC Office Updates
The EDC hosted its first Industrial Council of this fiscal year in July, at the Randolph Senior Adult Center. The EDC welcomed representatives from our new Workforce Development Board, which is now housed at the Piedmont Triad Regional Council, to discuss workforce and training resources available through their office.
Existing Industry Director Brantley Craft recently completed the Homegrown Leaders Program, which is developed and led by the North Carolina Rural Center. The program focuses on leadership development and community engagement for leaders in North Carolina's nearly 80 rural counties. Read more about the program here.

Update on Klaussner Closure
Our office, like the rest of you, was surprised and devastated to hear of Klaussner's sudden closure. Our office quickly began connecting local businesses to Randolph Community College, Piedmont Triad Regional Council, and the NC Works Career Center, who put together three job fairs for those affected. At these events:
40+ companies have been represented at each
Over 500 affected employees have been assisted
Resources for mental health, financial counseling, resume workshops, and more were provided
If you are interested in getting connected with affected employees, reach out to the NC Works Career Center in Asheboro or Existing Industry Director Brantley Craft, bcraft@rcedc.com
Randolph Rises Campaign - Crossing the Finish Line
One year ago, Randolph EDC set out on its first capital campaign, seeking to raise $1.1 million in new funding over five years from private sector investors. This campaign aimed to create a more nimble EDC, one prepared to engage strategically with new challenges in the County as investment and jobs arrive in the County and region at levels not seen in recent history. The 5-year strategic plan that this campaign will support can be viewed here.
As the Randolph Rises Campaign comes to a close, it has been a resounding success:
The EDC has over 130 private sector investors, 84 of whom have committed to the 5-year plan. This includes 20 new investors, with more anticipated.
The EDC will exceed the $1.1 million goal, once final commitments are collected
Commitments highlighted by two Diamond level investors ($15,000+ annually) in Randolph Electric Membership Corp. and the Bryan Foundation.
